Sim Racing 4 Simpletons
SR4S is a multi-year brand system developed for a competitive sim racing league, evolving from an initial logo refresh into full creative ownership across identity, content, motion, and operations.
I was initially approached in 2022 to update the league’s logo and social presence. Rather than treating the request as a standalone mark, I built a flexible visual language designed to live across various platforms with consistency and longevity.
Over time, that system expanded into race-week graphics, broadcast assets, motion design, custom liveries, and seasonal theming. As the league grew, I took on full creative leadership, refining the identity, improving legibility and usability, and establishing repeatable tools that reduced friction for both organizers and drivers.
Today, I act as the sole creative lead for SR4S and am responsible for all branding, marketing, and media output while maintaining a cohesive visual narrative, allowing the league to evolve each season, year over year.
Establishing an Identity
Building a Repeatable System
From the outset, the visual system was designed to be repeatable rather than reinvented week to week. Race-day graphics, results, and championship standings followed a consistent structure that could scale across an entire season without losing clarity or visual cohesion.
Designing for Clarity & Operations
As the league grew, visual design became as much about clarity and consistency as it was about aesthetics. I focused on creating clear, repeatable systems that reduced confusion, supported drivers across language barriers, and made league operations easier to navigate week to week.
From the league website and driver onboarding materials to a comprehensive regulations handbook, recruitment posts, and roster communication, every asset was designed to prioritize hierarchy, legibility, and ease of understanding in a live, competitive environment.
Brand Expression & Extensions
With a strong system in place, the SR4S brand has been extended across motion, physical artifacts, and race-specific applications without compromising its core identity. These expressions were designed to reinforce culture, celebrate achievement, and support the league beyond the screen with seasonal hype reels, league liveries, custom trophies, apparel, and championship visuals.
Ongoing Creative Ownership
Over multiple seasons, SR4S has evolved through measured, intentional refinements rather than wholesale change. With the core system established, creative decisions focused on continuity, restraint, and long-term brand equity, allowing the league’s identity to mature while remaining familiar to its drivers and community season after season.
